Our bedrooms are possibly the most important rooms in the house, but they’re the most chaotic.

When you come home at the end of the day, all you want to do is fall into bed. Who has time to be cleaning the room up?

If you’re struggling to keep a handle on all your stuff, try installing sliding wardrobe doors. They’re more effective than you’d think.

Put the clutter away

The best thing about sliding wardrobe doors is that they can be installed to give you the most space possible.

This way, you will have more storage space than you’d ever dreamed of. Everything can go in them, such as your clothes, shoes, accessories, cosmetics – you name it.

Create a more soothing decor

Do you feel like the decoration in your room is overwhelming you? It can be hard to sleep if there’s competing themes in your room demanding your attention.

Try painting the walls a muted colour, especially blue, as it can be calming.

Also, if you have sliding wardrobe doors fitted, have them all made in a muted colour too, so they blend in with the walls or the rest of your furniture. It will make it much easier for you to relax at the end of the day.

Ban the electronics

Everyone has done it. It’s so easy to flop into bed and then reach for your phone, just for a quick browse through Facebook before you go to sleep.

It seems like a good idea at the time, but the light from your phone has been proven to keep you awake as it disrupts your circadian rhythms.

It’s time to start banning the electronics from the bedroom.

You’ll feel the benefit almost instantly, and you’ll go to sleep a lot sooner, as you’re not constantly refreshing your feed.

Match some blackout curtains to your room

While you’re redecorating your room, think about changing your curtains. The light that seeps through them at night from street lights or car headlights, can really disrupt your sleeping patterns.

Invest in a set of blackout curtains. They’re inexpensive, and if you’re feeling crafty you can even make them yourself. Now you’ll never be woken up by unwanted light again.

Ban non sleeping activities

People tend to use their bedrooms for all kinds of things. Children come in to play, some people use them to work in, and many people watch TV in bed rather than on their sofa.

It’s time to stop, though. All that activity is stressful, and you want your bedroom to be relaxing. Ban all non sleeping activity from the room and you’ll feel much more relaxed.
